	In May 2003, the Northern Diabetes Health Network held a “joint” Northeast / Northwest Networking Meeting and Professional Development Day in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
				Over 70 educators from the 38 member programs participated in networking activities, including the sharing of information, resources and best practices. Service recognition awards were presented to fifty-eight diabetes educators and support staff for their continued dedication to excellence in diabetes services in the north. Educators were also invited to share in the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Northern Diabetes Health Network. This was a time of reflection on the many successes achieved by the programs.
