Diabetes Certificate Program - Curriculum

Build New Skills. Every ten minutes, another person joins the 1.2 million Canadians affected by diabetes. This simple statistic means the need for qualified diabetes educators is growing across Canada.

The Diabetes Education Certificate Program offers a firm foundation in current clinical approaches to diabetes education. This fully accredited College program can help Registered Nurses and Registered Dietitians build professional skills and open new employment opportunities. The program is an excellent step towards certification with the Canadian Diabetes Association as a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE).
 


Earn a Certificate
The Diabetes Education Certificate

Registered Nurses and Registered Dietitians must successfully complete all three (3) levels to earn this post graduate certificate from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

Choose a Study Option
The Diabetes Education Certificate Program is offered jointly by Confederation College in Thunder Bay and Cambrian College in Sudbury.

Two study options are available:

1. Audio Conference

Participants at Cambrian and Confederation Colleges link through Contact North for regular audio conferences. Join in lively discussion of study topics with an experienced instructor and other learners across northern Ontario.

2. Independent Study
Participants who need flexibility to pursue their studies may choose to study on their own with access to a tutor.
